Our Activities at BrightColoursOrphanage
Practical, everyday work that helps children heal, learn and grow – and helps families stand on their own feet.
Dealing with the Challenge: How BrightColoursOrphanage Works
With our mission in mind, we keep looking for new and better ways to respond to the needs of orphaned and vulnerable children. We take this responsibility seriously, and our team works every day to make a real, positive difference in our children’s lives.
Our activities fall into a few connected areas: daily care in our home, education for children who have missed out on school, events that bring the wider community together, and skills training that helps women support their families. Each one strengthens the others.

Caring Support at BrightColoursOrphanage
At Bright Colours Orphanage, caring support is where everything begins. Children need to feel safe before they can learn, so we focus first on the basics of a stable home life.
- A clean, secure place to live with consistent adult supervision.
- Regular, nutritious meals and clean drinking water.
- Clothing, hygiene and access to medical care when children are unwell.
- Daily routines, shared meals and quiet times for prayer and reflection.
- Patient listening and encouragement for children recovering from loss and trauma.
This is by no means an easy task, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe progress is possible.
Development and Opportunity at BrightColoursOrphanage
Our goal is to open doors for children who have been left behind. With access to the right resources and appropriate support, children become confident in their abilities and begin to imagine a different future.
School for street children
Many of the children we meet have never been enrolled in school. We provide classes that start where each child is, building reading, writing and number skills until they are ready to learn alongside their peers.
Uniforms, books and homework help
A school uniform says “you belong here”. We help children with uniforms and supplies, and support them with homework so they keep up and stay in school.
Creative learning
Colouring, drawing, games and music help younger children develop focus and fine motor skills – and give them space simply to enjoy being children.
Empowering Women and Families with BrightColoursOrphanage
Children are safest when their families are strong. Alongside our care for children, Bright Colours works to empower women with practical skills so they can earn an income and become independent.
Skills training gives mothers and young women a way to provide for their households, keep their children in school, and reduce the pressures that can lead to children being left without care. It is one of the most effective ways we know to prevent the next generation of children from facing the same challenge.
